What is the Voicemail Blasting Module used for?
The Voicemail Blasting module can be very useful for organizations that routinely use voicemail as a preferred method of communication. When combined with voicemail to email, this can be a powerful tool for getting important information out quickly and easily. On systems utilizing speech recognition, the groups can be integrated into speech applications.
The Voicemail Blasting module allows you to broadcast voice mail messages to large groups of users at one time
Overview
The Voicemail Blasting module is used to create a group or groups of voicemail users and assign them a number (internal) that can be dialed to leave specific voicemail users a message.
Adding a VMBlast Group
VMBlast Number
Enter the number that users will dial to access the VMBlast Group. This number must not conflict with an existing extension number.
Group Description
Provide a descriptive name for the VMBlast Group. This is a mandatory field.
Audio Label
Select which message to play to the caller so they can confirm that they have called the proper VMBlast Group number. The default is to have the system read the VMBlast Group number. In the following example, we created a system recording called “Receptionists” and we selected that recording to be played to the caller for verification. See the System Recordings module user guide for more information.
Optional Password
Specify a numerical password to protect the group from accidental use.
Voicemail Box List
Select voicemail boxes to add to this group. Use the “CTRL” key to select multiple, but not sequential boxes
Default VMBlast Group
Each PBX system can have a single Default Voicemail Blast Group. If specified, extensions can be automatically added (or removed) from this default group in the Extensions (or Users) module. Making a group the default will uncheck the option from the current default group if it was previously specified.
