This guide covers the basic configuration of Polycom phones. If you are converting a Polycom phone from another like 8x8 (Packet 8) that has attempted to lock the phone to their service please start from Step 1, if this is a new phone with original Polycom firmware then you can proceed to Step 2.
Step 1: Unlocking the Phone
Power Cycle the Phone
As soon a phone starts to boot back up, hold keys {Unlock Combination} until it asks for a password
Unlock Combinations are:
• IP 301, 501, 550, 600, 601, and 650, and 670: 4, 6, 8 and * dial pad keys
• IP 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 430, 450, 560, 7000: 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys
• IP 4000 and 6000: 6, 8 and * dial pad keys
Enter the MAC address of the phone, found on label on back of phone
- you will not be able to see the letters as you type, so be careful to count the Alpha Count... IE C = 2, 3 times
The Administrator password is now 456
Some providers used modified firmware to intentionally causes problems when attempting to change service providers, so we must flash the firmware back to Polycom's intended firmware.
You will need a FTP server with read and write permissions, if you do not have one, please open a ticket with Voxis and we will provide you one, do to the write permission requirement we do not openly advertise our FTP servers.

Please read the directions carefully, some phones require the download of multiple file sets to be copied to the same FTP server
once you have FTP and files setup, log into the Phone to get the IP Address
Menu, Status, Network, TCP/IP
use a web browser to and type the IP address into the URL Bar
Password is 456
Click Settings and Provisioning Server
Type in Server Address, Server User Name, and Server Password
Make sure all other settings are set just like in the picture above
Click the Save button and reboot the phone
the phone will flash the firmware, this may take some time!!!!
If your phone has older firmware in which provisioning is not accessible by web browser then you will have to set these settings though the in phone prompts
Step 2: Basic Configuration of Phone
From the Phone get the IP address: Menu, Status, Network, TCP/IP
use a web browser to and type the IP address into the URL Bar
Password is 456
Click Settings, Lines
Identification
Display Name - Can be any Name you want usually the Extension Number, Business Name, Persons Name, or Title
Address - Must be the Extension Number
Authentication User ID - Must be the Extension Number
Authentication Password - Must be the Extension password
Label - Can be any Name you want usually the Extension Number, Business Name, Persons Name, or Title
Third Party Name - Should be blank
Number of Line Keys - This the number of Line Appearances for this phone must be at least 1 and no more than the number of lines the phone supports, 2 is good for most people
Calls Per Line - how many calls can be on hold in the phone
Ring Type - Select the Ring Tone you want
Outbound Proxy
Address - Must be Blank
Port - Must be 0
Transport - Must be UDPOnly
Server 1
Address - Issued to you by Voxis Telcom
Port - Issued to you by Voxis Telcom
Transport - Must be UDPOnly
Expires - Should be 3600, can be tweaked lower if having trouble staying registered, how ever that is typically a NAT issue in your network
Register - Must be Yes
Leave all other settings as default
Click Save, the phone will reboot, when back up log back in
Click Settings, SIP
Local Settings
Local SIP Port - Must be unique to each phone, valid ranges are 0- 65535, use of 5{ExtensionNumber} usually works
Calls Per Line - how many calls can be on hold in the phone
New SDP Type - Disable
Live Communication Server Support - Disable
Non Standard Line Seize- Enable
Digitmap - also known as a dial plan, you may leave default or edit to your needs
all other settings should be left as default
Click Settings, Network, NAT
NAT
IP Address - Must be Blank
Signalling Port - Must be 0
Media Port Start - Must be 0
Keep-Alive Interval - should be 10
click save and reboot phone
Your Polycom phone is now setup with basic settings
