Overview - Zoiper for Android 

Zoiper is a Softphone app that turns your Andriod based device into a IP Phone, in which you can make and receive calls over your data network or WIFI connection. 
 

Installation Instructions 

Search the Google Play Store for Zoiper
 
 
 
Select the IAX SIP VoIP Softphone Version
 
Press the Install Button, If installing on a Tablet ignore the "Designed for Phones" label, Voxis has tested Zoiper on several Android Tablets, the only issue we have found is the phone app will not rotate into landscape mode 
 
 
Press the Accept Button
 
 
Open Zoiper
 
 
Press Cancel to use the free version of Zoiper, you can upgrade later if you wish
 
 
Press Config on top right, then Press Accounts
 
 
Press Add Account
 
 
Select Yes, when asked if you already have an account

Note: your extension needs to be setup in FreePBX before setting up Zoiper, the Zoiper application can not make an extension on your PBX for you, you must click yes at this point 
 
 
Press the Manual Configuration button
 
 
Select SIP
 
 
Setup your Account as Follows:
 
Account Name: Can be any descriptive name
 
Host: {PBX-URL}:{PBX Listening Port}
 
User Name: {Your Extension Number}
 
Password: {Your Extensions Secret}
 
Authentication User:  {Your Extension Number}
 
Check Enable on Start
 
Click on Audio Codec Settings 
 
 
 
 
the Only Selected Audio Codecs should be

u-LAW
G.729 (Paid for Version of Zoiper Only), move to top of list if you have it
G.722 (Paid for Version of Zoiper Only), move to top of list if you have it
 
Click Save, you will be taken back the the Account Setting Page
Click  Video Codec Settings
 
 
 
the Only Selected video Codecs should be

H.263 Plus
G.264 (Paid for Version of Zoiper Only), move to top of list if you have it
 
Click Save, you will be taken back the the Account Setting Page
Click  Save Again
 
 
Your Account Should be listed and Registered, indicated by the Green Check

press the back button on your phone or tablet
 
 
 
Click on Connectivity
 
 
 
 
make sure the settings to keep alive on WIFI, Stay Awake, and Run in Background are all checked so you do not miss any incoming calls
 
Note: Never click the Exit button on the Config Page, this will shut Zoiper down and you not get incoming calls, to leave Zoiper running in background always use the devices home key to leave the application
