Panasonic KX-TGP - Basic Configuration

This guide covers the basic configuration of Panasonic KX-TGP phones. If you are converting a Panasonic phone from another like ACN  that has attempted to lock the phone to their service please start from Step 1, if this is a new phone please goto to step 2
 

Step 1: Unlocking the Phone

 
 

You will need a router with DHCP enabled NOT connected to the internet, connect your Panasonic phone and a Laptop to the router

(you can either just disconnect Internet from existing router or use a separate router) 

 


Look Up the Phones IP Address: from phone Menu -> IP Service ->  Network Settings -> IP Settings (Take note of IP Address of Phone)
Enable Web Config: from phone Menu -> IP Service -> Network Settings -> Embedded Web, Select ON and Save

 

Open a Web Browser and go to the IP Address of the Phone

 

Use the Follow Login:

 

User Name: customerserviceid
pass: cspass

 

Click on the Maintenance Tab on Top

Click Reset to Defaults Navigation on Left Side

Click Reset to Factory Defaults Button

 

Exit Web Browser

 

Wait for Phones LCD screen to go blank and become active again

 

Enable Web Config: from phone Menu -> IP Service -> Network Settings -> Embedded Web, Select ON and Save

 

Open a Web Browser and go to the IP Address of the Phone

 

Use the Follow Login:

 

User Name: admin
pass: adminpass

 

Click Maintenance Tab at Top

Click Provisioning Maintenance Navigation on Left 

 

Set Enable Provisioning to NO

remove all text from Standard File URL, Product File URL, and Master File URL

 

Click Save

 

it is now safe to plug phone into Internet

 

 

Step 2: Program Phone

 
If you are not already logged in as admin, please do so
 
Open a Web Browser and go to the IP Address of the Phone
User Name: admin
pass: adminpass
 
Click on VoIP Tab at Top
Click on Line 1 Navigation under SIP Setting on Left
 
 
Under Phone Number 
 
Phone Number = {Extension Number} or {SIP User ID}
Line ID = {Extension Number} or {SIP User ID}
 
Under SIP Server
 
Registrar Server Address = {PBX URL} or {SIP URL}
Registrar Server Port = {PBX SIP Port} or {SIP Port}
Proxy Server Address = {PBX URL} or {SIP URL}
Proxy Server Port = {PBX SIP Port} or {SIP Port}
Presence Server Address = {PBX URL} or {SIP URL}
Presence Server Port = {PBX SIP Port} or {SIP Port}
 
Under Outbound Proxy
 
Outbound Proxy Server Address = Leave this Blank
Outbound Proxy Server Port = 5060
 
Under SIP Service Domain
 
Service Domain = Leave this Blank
 
Under SIP Source Port
 
Source Port = Use Random Port, do not use 5060, if on PBX 5{Ext Number will be fine)
 
Under SIP Authentication
 
Authentication ID = {Extension Number} or {SIP User ID}
Authentication Password {Extension Secret} or {SIP Password}
 
 
Leave all other settings as default, expect set Keep Alive Interval = 10
 
click save
 
If your router will not work with Keep Alive and you need STUN
 
Click on Network Tab 
Click on Global Address Detection on Navigation on Left
 
Under Global Address Detection
 
Detection Method = STUN
Detection Interval = 10
 
Under STUN Server
 
STUN Server Address = stun.voxistelcom.com
STUN Server Port = 3478
 
Click Save
